The Role

This firm is looking to expand its team with a Planning Senior Associate with 4+ years PQE, based in their City of London office. The team serves a diverse client base, including residential and mixed-use developers, retailers, corporate occupiers, contractors, charities, investors, funders, the NHS, local authorities, and government bodies.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing strategic and tactical advice on securing planning permission
  • Drafting and negotiating statutory agreements
  • Undertaking due diligence related to planning aspects of real estate, funding, and corporate transactions
  • Advising on special protection areas, Assets of Community Value, and Village Greens
  • Auditing planning application documents and committee reports to assist clients with risk management, appeals, judicial reviews, and enforcement
  • Covering highways advice, with knowledge of EIA, CIL, and GLA planning

This role offers the opportunity to develop your own caseload and work closely with senior firm members on development-related matters.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • 4+ PQE Planning Solicitor (UK qualified) with extensive experience in planning and highways law
  • Experience drafting complex Section 106 agreements, highway agreements, land development agreements, and planning due diligence reports
  • Experience working on planning-led regeneration projects
  • Advising on planning judicial reviews and conducting planning appeals, including presenting at planning committees
  • Confident and personable approach
  • Strong client and matter management skills
  • Proven track record of successful practice development
