The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join EY’s specialist Indirect Tax team in our London office. The team helps support and deliver Indirect Tax advice for clients across the UK. This role offers involvement in a fast-growing part of the Indirect Tax team, working across the UK. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with both clients and EY local offices, providing a great chance to build and expand your professional network.

Your key responsibilities

• Build and maintain tax relationships with clients and provide high levels of client service.
• Develop relationships within the firm and externally, identifying opportunities and managing expectations.
• Contribute to winning new work by proactively managing existing clients and attracting new clients.
• Manage the successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and a practical, business-driven approach.
• Handle day-to-day client liaison activities.
• Support the activities of the wider team.
• Be a key member of a client service group providing comprehensive tax services to a client portfolio.

Skills and attributes for success:

• Strong Indirect Tax technical skills with a desire to develop further.
• Ability to build strong client relationships.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to identify risks, review effectively, and know when to escalate issues.
• Client-focused and commercially aware.
• Relationship management skills with the ability to manage client expectations.
• An inclusive team player capable of building effective relationships at all levels.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

• ACA / CA / Tax Inspectors with full technical training, Law qualification, CTA (or equivalent knowledge/experience).
• Experience working in a large professional services or law firm.

Ideally you\’ll also have

• Project management skills, including planning, prioritizing, meeting deadlines, and monitoring budgets.
