Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary mainstream school on a long-term basis.

At Prospero, we work closely with local schools to provide high-quality staffing solutions that support both pupils and teaching staff. By joining our team, you'll play a vital role in helping schools meet the individual needs of children, particularly those requiring additional support to thrive in the classroom.

The Role:

  • Supporting children with a range of SEND needs within the classroom and through targeted interventions.
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure all pupils have access to a tailored and enriching education.
  • Assisting with the preparation of resources and creating a supportive learning environment.
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress and providing feedback to the wider team.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have previous experience working with children with SEND, ideally within a UK primary school setting (essential).
  • Hold a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in education or childcare (essential).
  • Be patient, resilient, and nurturing, with a genuine commitment to helping children succeed.
  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).

To be eligible for any job with Prospero Teaching, you must:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional child-related references that cover at least the last two years.
