This opportunity is an excellent role for an experienced Risk & Compliance Consultant to join a fast-growing law firm and operate as their Risk & Compliance Manager on a part-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for chairing the Risk Management Committee, identifying risk areas within the business, implementing risk mitigation strategies, and collaborating with the external consulting team to enhance their compliance efforts. Initially, the role is expected to take 10 hours a week; however, there is potential for this to increase in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying relevant areas of risk within the business and suggesting solutions.
  • Implementing risk and compliance initiatives within the organisation.
  • Keeping the firm up to date with changes in risk & compliance legislation.
  • Supporting the roles of COLP, COFA, MLRO, MLCO, and to an extent Data Protection Officer/Data Protection Manager.
  • Leading mock audits and overseeing processes, and process improvements.
  • Supporting Operations & HR with the Professional Indemnity insurance renewal process.
  • General training (with support from external consultants).
  • Assisting with periodic questions from the team around general risk and SRA requirements.

This position needs someone with proven experience in creating and executing risk management strategies within a legal setting. They should also have a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and compliance processes relevant to a law firm. Hourly rate to be discussed depending on experience.
