Research Scientist/Engineer (Clean Water Networks)

Research Scientist/Engineer (Clean Water Networks), Feltham

This role provides critical technical support for field and office-based research projects aimed at improving the performance and efficiency of physical assets and supporting long-term asset management.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Innovation trial support: Setting up and monitoring trials, collaborating with technicians and contractors.
2. Data analysis and interpretation: Capturing, analyzing, and documenting research data.
3. Safety, Health, and Environment: Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
4. Project support and knowledge transfer: Assisting project managers with information from the Project Management Office.
5. Horizon scanning: Monitoring emerging technologies and strategies.
6. Business resilience and performance: Identifying improvements to infrastructure resilience, reducing leakage, and minimizing water supply interruptions.
7. External bids: Developing skills and knowledge for bid submissions for initiatives like the Ofwat Water Breakthrough Challenge.

Location: Hybrid – Kempton Park Water Treatment Works, TW13 6XH. Attending the office at least two days a week is expected, with flexible remote work arrangements.

Working hours: 36 hours, Monday to Friday.

Minimum requirements: Valid UK driving license.

Ideal candidate: Holds a degree in science or engineering, has industry experience, technical knowledge of water utilities, practical skills for pilot plant operation, excellent communication skills, and an innovative mindset.
