We’re looking for a Regulatory Affairs Analyst and a Competition Policy Analyst in London, UK. The Regulatory Affairs Analyst and Competition Policy Analyst is an exciting role in the Legal and Corporate Affairs (LAC) team providing senior level advice relating to antitrust, litigation, regulation, and M&A. The Analyst will play a key role in collaborating with the business which includes colleagues in LAC, M&A, Strategy, Content, and other key teams within Liberty Global, as well as the management and the legal teams of our operating companies and investments.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support regulatory policy and legal elements of merger control processes as required.
  • Advise on antitrust issues on multi-national M&A matters, for example, provide legal support during due diligence, review of relevant deal documentation, provide pre-closing guidance and antitrust support in integration workstreams.
  • Provide legal and regulatory guidance in contractual and behavioral competition law matters (e.g. in horizontal and vertical agreements).
  • Support the development and implementation of antitrust compliance programs and antitrust elements of policies.
  • Support on regulatory aspects in relation to networks, services, products, and consumer in the broadest sense, including telecoms, digital services and network, media regulation, content & copyright.
  • Advise on product regulation, CE/UKCA marking etc. and the application of telecoms and media regulation to the devices and products that Liberty Global develops and offers to customers.
  • Engage in strategic company projects and providing advice and analysis as required.
  • Support Liberty Global departments and subsidiaries to ensure a uniform approach on major regulatory issues.
  • Disseminate regulatory and competition law best practice and expertise within Liberty Global.
  • At all times stay on top of relevant legal and commercial developments to provide the highest quality support to colleagues within the organization.

Skills & abilities required:

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Relevant years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a law firm or an in-house legal team.
  • Excellent advocacy skills and research skills.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to succeed in an environment with high task and role ambiguity.
  • Strong prioritization, project management and time management skills.
