We are looking for a Regional Lead – Policy & Insights – UK and EEMA on a full-time, 12-month fixed-term basis to focus on the UK and EEMA Regions, which are Europe, Eurasia, Middle East & Americas. Role holder could be based in the UK or across EEMA regional locations and we offer blended working options.
The role reports to the Head of Policy Development and is part of a globally distributed team comprising P&I colleagues around the world. More details of ACCA thought leadership/research reports can be found here .
The Job
This role acts as a bridge between the Global P&I team and the UK & EEMA Relationships teams, responsible for delivery of ACCA strategy in countries across the region – success in this role depends on collaborative working relationships with both these key categories of stakeholders.
The role will undertake the following tasks:
- Supporting EEMA & UK inputs into global thought leadership creation
- Support the shaping of ACCA’s programme of research and policy work in UK and EEMA
- Creating EEMA & UK focused thought leadership/research content
- Producing deliverables to add value to ACCA’s market recognition, brand and influence, which are typically technical consultation responses or policy papers/briefs with clear, targeted messages, and key recommendations or points-of-view tailored to the target audience.
- Creating policy content in areas of interest to ACCA in EEMA & the UK, e.g. sustainability reporting developments in EU (CSRD etc) and in the UK is a key area of focus
- Project management: Management of timelines, milestones and budgets for reports and projects that you or team members are leading
- To act as a ‘bridge’ between colleagues producing globally relevant thought leadership/research and policy (Global Subject Matter Experts); and the relationships teams in EEMA & UK
- Gathering intelligence on thought leadership/research and policy to identify opportunities and risks for ACCA through a regional network of internal and external advocates and experts who can contribute insights.
The Person
- A good understanding of accountancy and of issues impacting on the accountancy profession globally
- Professionally qualified accountant is helpful, but not mandatory
- Ability to write policy content related to topical issues in areas such as sustainability reporting, tax, financial reporting and audit & assurance. This may be with a degree of support and input of other subject matter experts in these areas across the team.
- Strong leadership, people management and team player skills
- Ability to understand relevant aspects within likely areas of focus such as sustainability reporting, audit & assurance, controls, digital, CFO agenda and skills
- Capable of operating at fast pace within a high-performing team; able to handle multiple tasks at same time, manage expectations and prioritise effectively
- Strategic thinking: understanding the overall goals of ACCA and Global P&I team and relating this to the EEMA & UK team requirements
- Project management and planning skills
- Experience of working in a global organisation with cross-cultural understanding is preferred.
