We are seeking a Quantum Error Correction Scientist in our Broomfield, CO Location. Quantinuum is looking for a highly qualified Quantum Error Correction Scientist to apply their knowledge base to the development of both near-term and long-term quantum error correction development. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of quantum algorithms and the limitations and opportunities imposed by real-world hardware constraints. In this role, you will apply previous experience in quantum error correction development to help develop use-cases for trapped-ion quantum computers. You will help drive the development of new concepts, mature software tools to program quantum computers, and write journal publications and conference presentations. You will work with fellow theorists and system-level architects to ensure rapid and significant advancement of the state-of-the-art, and work with experimentalists to achieve unprecedented technology demonstrations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work directly with other theorists and experimentalists to understand the trapped-ion QCCD quantum computer architecture.
- Develop quantum error correction codes optimized for our hardware and inform future designs.
- Help inform system level requirements (error rates, classical computing requirements, etc.) to enable efficient error correction.
- Work with algorithm developers to find early uses for error correction concepts.
- Communicate ground-breaking results both internally and externally through publications and presentations.
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Completed PhD in Physics or Computer Science.
- Minimum of 2+ years of post-PhD experience in research projects.
- Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person, defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status.
- Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.

Estimated Salary Wage: $129,000 - $160,000 Annually
