Quality Control Inspector Job – South West London

A Quality Control Inspector role covering the South West London area, ideally suited for candidates residing within South West London and Surrey, primarily focusing on affordable housing developments.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Oversee building works on assigned sites to ensure quality, safety, and timely completion.
  2. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and employer standards.
  3. Conduct inspections, document defects, and communicate issues appropriately.
  4. Stay updated with building regulations and compliance standards.
  5. Demonstrate understanding of building and housing industry practices, materials, trades, and legal requirements.
  6. Prepare detailed reports with photographs and submit them timely.
  7. Organize snagging and defect inspections with clients.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in affordable housing development, fire control measures, and compliance with Building Regulations and British Standards.
  • Background in roles such as Clerk of Works, Quality Control Inspector, Building Control Warranty Inspector, or Site Manager.
  • Experience inspecting residential projects.
  • Knowledge of building regulations and ability to interpret construction drawings.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Outlook; report writing skills.
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements:

  • ICWIC accreditation as Clerk of Works is highly desirable.
  • Other relevant designations such as CIOB, CABE, RICS, IFE will be considered.
  • Formal qualifications in construction, engineering, or project management are advantageous.
