Position Summary

Our client, a multibillion-dollar food manufacturer with iconic brands, seeks a hands-on, energetic Quality Manager for a key plant in Indianapolis, IN. As a vital part of the plant leadership team, you'll oversee Food Safety and Quality, including regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, training, and team leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Biology, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in Food or Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, FSMA, SQF, Food Allergens, Microbiology, and root cause analysis
  • Experience with continuous improvement processes

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, customer requirements, and federal/state regulations (USDA, FDA, CFIA)
  • Lead HACCP, SQF, and FSMA programs; serve as liaison for audits and inspections
  • Manage and develop QA team; promote ownership of Food Safety & Quality
  • Implement and maintain training programs on GMPs, Food Safety, and Quality standards
  • Track and improve quality KPIs; lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate across departments to support production quality and customer satisfaction
  • Work with suppliers to address performance issues and corrective actions
  • Develop and maintain SOPs; manage departmental budget
  • Ensure sanitation, pest control, and environmental monitoring programs are effective
