Position Summary
Our client, a multibillion-dollar food manufacturer with iconic brands, seeks a hands-on, energetic Quality Manager for a key plant in Indianapolis, IN. As a vital part of the plant leadership team, you'll oversee Food Safety and Quality, including regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, training, and team leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Biology, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in Food or Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance
- Strong leadership skills
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, FSMA, SQF, Food Allergens, Microbiology, and root cause analysis
- Experience with continuous improvement processes
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, customer requirements, and federal/state regulations (USDA, FDA, CFIA)
- Lead HACCP, SQF, and FSMA programs; serve as liaison for audits and inspections
- Manage and develop QA team; promote ownership of Food Safety & Quality
- Implement and maintain training programs on GMPs, Food Safety, and Quality standards
- Track and improve quality KPIs; lead continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate across departments to support production quality and customer satisfaction
- Work with suppliers to address performance issues and corrective actions
- Develop and maintain SOPs; manage departmental budget
- Ensure sanitation, pest control, and environmental monitoring programs are effective
