Job Description

We are seeking experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join our dedicated Assessment Team within a local authority in the North East. You will work in a busy, supportive environment assessing and working with children and families, intervening early to provide support. Your role involves ensuring social care services are safe, effective, and person-centered, making assessments and decisions on appropriate interventions, and establishing strong relationships with service users and agencies.

The ideal candidate will be committed to achieving positive, sustainable outcomes for children, with a passion for supporting families to thrive. Our priority is protecting the vulnerable and working efficiently.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
• Experience working with children and families, including vulnerable groups
• Knowledge of Child Protection legislation
• Strong mediation and negotiation skills
• Excellent relationship-building skills
• Experience in multi-disciplinary, interagency work
• 4+ years qualified
• Creative, flexible, forward-thinking approach
• Dedicated to continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of risks and social care needs
• Manage a caseload effectively
• Develop individual care plans respecting diversity and dignity
• Support and mentor unqualified staff and students
• Use specialist communication skills to achieve outcomes
