I am recruiting for a Purchasing Manager to join my client based in Thetford. This is a full-time, permanent role which you are required to work full-time on site.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be part of a small team engaged in the procurement of materials, goods, and services for the organisation, ensuring the best cost, cash, quality, and service is achieved.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Influence key internal stakeholder relationships
  2. Procurement of portfolio of materials, goods, or services within a category
  3. Identify and work with suppliers
  4. Gather, analyse, interpret, and act upon market intelligence
  5. Gather and maintain purchasing records, supplier data, and procurement contracts
  6. Monitor and forecast inventory, determining purchasing needs and identify costs
  7. Maintain raw material expenditure % to manufactured sales within the agreed target levels
  8. Communicate to internal stakeholders as appropriate
  9. Minimise risk to continuity of supply by carrying out supplier risk assessments for the portfolio’s suppliers and implementing corrective actions as required
  10. Ensure supply agreements are based upon formal legal T&Cs
  11. Other duties as required

Requirements for the role:

  1. Extensive procurement experience within a manufacturing environment
  2. Task-focused and organised
  3. Ability to work independently
  4. Strong communication skills and the ability to problem solve
  5. Strong team player
  6. CIPS qualified would be desired, however not essential
