Our Public Law team is highly regarded for its expertise in civil liberties and judicial review, representing vulnerable clients against government bodies and in complex legal proceedings, including cases in the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
Main Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Department Director
- Manage all aspects of Public Law work, providing guidance to team members
- Supervise Solicitors, Trainee Solicitors, and Caseworkers
- Assist with training and development within the department
- Handle various Public Law cases, including detention, asylum, and judicial review matters
- Prepare funding applications and legal documents
- Attend conferences and court proceedings
- Contribute to business development and marketing efforts
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Law Society Immigration Accreditation Level 2 (IAAS) & Supervisor (desirable)
- Valid Practising Certificate
- Proven supervisory experience and client care skills
- Strong networking and communication skills
- Knowledge of Legal Aid Guidance and experience in Public Law
- Advocacy experience is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management
