SIG Plc. is a leading supplier of specialist building materials to trade customers across Europe with strong positions in its core markets as a specialist distributor of insulation and interiors products and as a merchant of roofing and exteriors products. We are currently looking to recruit a Project Sales Manager who will grow sales opportunities on Nominated Major Projects for the Midlands.

What does the role involve? As a project manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • The development of sales on major new build projects, supporting both the head of Sector and local branches.
  • Relationship management with existing and targeted new customers on the project, including the development and maintenance of structured account plans to ensure the achievement of sales and margin targets.
  • Maintenance of customer records and plans up to date utilizing the company's processes and CRM system.
  • Management of projects, capturing all new Tier 1 contractors and sub-contractors involved.
  • Building strong relationships with Tier 1 contractors and securing packages aligned with our key alliance supply partners.
  • Collaborating with branches, the heads of Sector, and SIG’s specialist teams to develop SIG’s presence on the project.
  • Holding weekly on-site meetings with key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will require:

  • Customer-facing sales experience
  • Knowledge of the construction industry
  • Some form of account management experience is ideal but not essential
  • Ability to win sales business
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Business acumen to proactively manage customer portfolios
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office tools
