We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Quantity Surveyor who will be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects with minimal supervision to ensure value for money and contractual compliance. You could work on projects ranging from £25,000 to £200 million at Thames Water.
What you’ll be doing as a Project Quantity Surveyor
- Providing Commercial Assurance of Capital Delivery Contracts.
- Challenging, negotiating, and agreeing Project Tenders within your portfolio.
- Ensuring timely payments according to contracts.
- Assessing Quantum of Change and Extension of Time under relevant contracts.
- Monitoring processes to maintain contractual compliance and advising stakeholders on non-performance and corrective actions.
- Attending monthly site meetings.
- Supporting budget management and project spending optimization.
- Auditing and agreeing on Project Accounts.
- Assisting Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyors with Claims resolution.
Base Location: Reading or Maple Lodge – Hybrid.
Working Pattern: 36 Hours/week.
What you should bring to the role
- Extensive experience in managing a portfolio of projects pre and post-contract.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
- Desire to gain Chartered Status.
- Negotiation and dispute-resolution skills.
- Understanding of water regulation, including OFWAT Price Review methodology.
- Strong relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Full UK Driving license and own transport.
