We have a unique and exciting opportunity within Leonardo to work on many different projects within the Integrated Sensing and Protection (ISP) Business Area that will develop and build your Project Controls and Project Management expertise and knowledge.
This role lies within the Project Management Job Family Framework and is required within ISP to support Project Managers in the control of projects and project schedules.
Mission:
As a Project Controller, you are accountable for the quality and integrity of a group of (product/project) schedules and schedule analysis in terms of time, cost, and resources.
What you will do as a Project Controller:
- Deliver Project Controls on Projects through the application of consistent processes, methods, governance, and provision of guidance to the wider Integrated Project Team (IPT) in line with Leonardo processes.
- Ownership of the Project Schedules – drive and promote optimal schedule quality and best practice management techniques including application of schedule risk analysis at all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Apply resource scheduling techniques to optimise schedules, identify and resolve conflicts.
- Provide Project Controls support to the establishment and management of activities in the bid phase to ensure best practice is followed, risks managed, and schedules can transition to execution with minimal impact.
- Conduct what-if analysis to drive decision-making and risk mitigation.
- Application of Schedule Risk Analysis techniques including identification, methods of analysis, and recommendations for the project team on how to manage/mitigate.
- Apply Project Controls metrics and measures (including Earned Value) and report to IPT/Project Controls Manager on the outcomes, alongside recommendations to address issues.
- Actively contribute to IPT and Business area Project and schedule reviews through delivering the Project Controls inputs.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with all functions across applicable Projects in order to influence project activities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Self-motivated with an aptitude for problem-solving and driving difficult issues to conclusion with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work within a team and manage own workload and prioritise tasks with minimum supervision.
- Record and report progress of activities and tasks.
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills.
- Practical and demonstrable experience of Project Planning and Control principles.
- Experience using techniques and procedures e.g. Earned Value, Work Breakdown Structure, and Network Planning.
- Proficient on SAP/Primavera Tool for planning and project management elements or similar planning tool.
- Breadth of understanding in all parts of the project lifecycle and experience in Planning and Execution Phases.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, using data and analysis to support line of reasoning.
- Good level of business knowledge to perform what-if scenarios.
- Ability to work independently within well-defined procedures and require minimal supervision.
It would also be beneficial if you:
- Hold APMG Project Controls Foundation and Practitioner Level Certification or meet the criteria to undertake this training.
