Job Description:
Production Manager required for a manufacturer based in Leighton Buzzard. The company is expanding into furniture, so they need someone experienced within joinery and ideally furniture making. You will be responsible for managing projects within our production facility and ensuring the highest level of quality and efficiency.
Position Overview
- Oversee and supervise workshop staff to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of scheduled contracts.
- Manage and plan the production process, coordinating with the management team to meet targets and achieve desired outcomes.
- Utilize your joinery background and experience to assemble plywood components using hand tools and operate various electric machinery (e.g., sawing, sanding, drilling, CNC machines, Edgebander).
- Read and interpret simple drawings to guide the assembly and production process effectively.
- Take the lead in the expansion of our product range to include furniture and bathroom PODs.
- Exercise excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Display strong leadership skills and work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the production facility.
- Manage and motivate a team, providing guidance and support as needed.
Position Requirements
- Previous experience in joinery (furniture making) and managing a team is essential.
- Proficient in computer usage with previous experience in a similar role.
- Clean driving license and own transportation is a must.
Position Remuneration
- 40 Hour week; 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday with an hour for lunch.
- 22 days holidays a year, plus bank holidays.
- Salary negotiable at £45-50k per annum, depending on experience.
