Your product development and performance experience will also be required when you are asked to provide advice on existing product / new product.
You will need to visit suppliers and assess the product and their capability, undertaking assessments to ensure compliance with HSEQ standards. You should expect to be on site as required; this could be all week or just a day.
This role reaches across the operational business and across the UK, from our clients / landlords, Partnerships to handover into operations. Whilst this is a product engineering role, a commercial / operational mind is required.
You will be part of a small team of technical experts within the business and will be supported by the wider engineering, project, and programmes team.

Responsibilities of the role
- Research available products in the market through partner assets, internet/social reviews, and new contacts
- Develop new digital products (LCD / LED) for the outdoor business
- Manage the full lifecycle of product development, ensuring collaboration for successful delivery
- Challenge specifications and engineering approaches for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Request costs from suppliers and assist in preparing business cases for R&D spend approval
- Communicate confidently with all stakeholders and senior management
- Engage with stakeholders to identify potential issues and risks
- Provide updates to the Programmes team
- Ensure project/product delivery within defined programmes and quality assurance
- Monitor product performance (MTBF, obsolescence) and manage lifecycle issues
- Deputise for the Chief Engineer when required
What you will need
The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative product solutions, capable of:
- Understanding and proposing solutions to product challenges in our environments
- Challenging suppliers on product performance and analyzing failure trends
- Following defined project plans
- Managing risks during product development
- Having experience in mechanical, electrical, or physical product development
- Possessing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Product Engineering
