The successful candidate needs procurement/purchasing or buying experience. The role will involve working collaboratively with Procurement colleagues, assisting in the procurement process by monitoring stock levels, researching vendors, tracking orders, and maintaining purchasing records. You will manage and coordinate a variety of activities to ensure timely, cost-effective procurement of supplies and equipment based on the organisation’s needs.

Your new role

  • Assist Procurement Manager with obtaining supplies, services, and equipment at the best possible price.
  • Identify and take full responsibility for the company’s indirect purchases, including maintenance services, facilities management, utilities, office supplies, telecommunications, and operational services.
  • Manage the company’s packaging materials and other consumables purchases based on weekly stock levels and budget allowance.
  • Monitor and verify data and inventory accuracy, report errors or discrepancies, conduct on-site inventory inspections, and prepare inventory reports.
  • Keep detailed records and prepare purchasing reports for management review.
  • Ensure purchase orders are completed accurately and on time.
  • Provide detailed and accurate information to other departments promptly when needed.
  • Implement and manage a supplier evaluation system to assess and rank suppliers based on performance criteria such as quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
  • Address supplier rejection rates and costs to the Procurement Manager.

  • Experience working within a purchasing or procurement department.
  • Strong administrative skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Good understanding of supply chain procedures.
  • Proven negotiation skills with suppliers/vendors.
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and telecommunication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
