Additional Information: A school visit will be arranged for shortlisted candidates. This is a teaching Principal post. The school currently has a financial allocation to allow for Principal Release of 2 days per week.

General Functions
- A Principal shall be required to carry out his/her professional duties in accordance with the school’s policy and objectives as determined by the employing authority and, in the case of a controlled school, the Board of Governors, obeying the reasonable directions of the employing authority and the Board of Governors.
- The Principal shall be responsible for the internal organisation, management, and control of the school.
- In carrying out duties, the Principal shall consult with the employing authority, staff, and Board of Governors where appropriate.
Professional Duties
In addition to the role of a teaching Principal, the duties include:
- Formulating the overall aims and objectives of the school and policies for their implementation;
- Participating in the selection and appointment of staff;
- Deploying and managing staff and allocating duties;
- Maintaining relationships with staff and representing the school externally;
- Developing and implementing the curriculum based on pupils\’ needs and resources;
- Monitoring and reviewing the school\’s work and organisation;
- Evaluating teaching and learning standards and maintaining professional performance;
- Providing performance information about staff;
- Participating in staff development schemes;
- Monitoring and recording pupils\’ progress;
- Managing pastoral care and discipline policies;
- Communicating with parents and the community;
- Developing relationships with external agencies;
- Managing the school\’s resources and facilities;
- Participating in staff development and training;
- Arranging for a Vice-Principal or delegate when absent;
- Participating in performance review for Principals;
Additional duties include staff management, training, and development, as well as demonstrating experience in strategic planning, leadership, learning and teaching, community development, and resource management.
