Principal Driveline Engineer

Due to continued growth in our Transmission and Driveline division, we seek a talented Principal Driveline Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will ensure that the right components are delivered to the right cars at the right time. You\’ll lead a dedicated team of engineers, define system-level architecture, set component targets, and ensure alignment of CAD and system BOM, all while upholding the highest standards of quality and performance that Aston Martin is known for.

Responsibilities

1. Drive the technical development of ICE and hybrid sports cars.
2. Lead system-level DFMEAs and ensure DVP processes are in place.
3. Conduct comprehensive Design Reviews.
4. Make critical technical decisions and create a robust commodity timing plan.
5. Build strong relationships with external technical partners.

Qualifications and Skills

1. Experience in delivering complex automotive systems and deep understanding of driveline design principles.
2. Proficiency in CAD systems, especially Siemens PLM TeamCentre and NX Software.
3. Solid grasp of CAE techniques.
4. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
5. Understanding of automotive product creation systems, failure mode avoidance tools, and manufacturing processes.

Additional Information

This role is predominantly office-based with hybrid working options (1-2 days remote). Standard hours are Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Flexible working arrangements can be discussed during the interview.
