Job Description

How should global money work? How do you take a complex, stressful experience and make it simple, calming even? How do you challenge the way it’s always been done?

How do you collaborate in a human-centred way to ship work you’re truly proud of?

These are just a few of the challenges a Principal (IC) Content Designer will work on as part of Wise’s global mission to build an open, fair, and human financial system.

Your mission

You’ll lead content design strategy and projects, working across the cross-functional teams that make up FinCrime. You’ll help keep Wise safe and secure for our customers, and balance meeting regulatory obligations with building world-class customer experiences.

How you’ll contribute:

  1. You’ll collaborate with your design, product and engineering partners to set the vision and strategy, and coach teams to deliver it.
  2. You’ll be influential in your squad, understanding and prioritising content needs and delivering on the most impactful projects across multiple teams.
  3. Working with design leaders from other squads, you’ll standardise and systematise experiences for customers.
  4. Using your content skills, you’ll level up content design quality and maturity across the FinCrime squad.
  5. Part of the Content Guild, you’ll regularly collaborate with the content community across Wise.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  1. Own the squad’s content end-to-end, and steer the strategy and direction.
  2. Elevate product and content quality — you define what good looks like in the squad, and demonstrate it with everything you ship.
  3. Be part of a positive change in the world. We’re fixing a broken system, and putting people and businesses in control of their money.

About you:

You’re an accomplished and experienced Principal Content Designer with extensive experience shipping world-class products.

You’re comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity — and can successfully collaborate in this environment.

You have an eye for quality, and know what to focus on to drive it up.

You’re influential, inspiring, and able to work with others in a culture that values autonomy and empowerment.

You’re highly empathetic, both to customers and the people you work with.

You’re a trusted partner, building effective relationships with your peers across the business.

Heads up, this probably isn’t for you if:

Your experience is mostly in marketing content, advertising, copywriting, journalism or social media – and you have no hands-on experience of content design or working in UX.
