Job Description:

Due to our growing portfolio of Power & Energy projects, we have an opportunity for a Senior/Principal Civil Engineer to join our Manchester office. The role involves leading the design of civil infrastructure across various projects within the Grid & Energy Storage market.

We work with high-profile clients including SSE, EDF, Scottish Power, UK Power Networks, Murphy, Jones Bros, Farrans, I&H Brown, and Power Systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience in areas such as transmission grid infrastructure, distribution grid infrastructure, substations, converter stations, switching stations, and HVDC projects.

The responsibilities include leading the design and delivery of civil packages, alignment/earthworks design, highways improvement for abnormal loads, drainage design, and supporting infrastructure development.

• Project, programme, and commercial management
• Strong communication and influencing skills
• Mentoring and coaching junior staff, including training and development support

Qualifications

• Civil/Structural engineering degree or equivalent experience
• Chartered Engineer with ICE or IHT

• Design checks and peer reviews
• Leading a team of civil engineers and BIM designers
