Pulse AHP's Phlebotomy Team is currently recruiting for experienced Phlebotomists/Healthcare Support Workers to join the team for a role based in the Somerset area. These roles will be working locally in the Somerset area providing Phlebotomy & Healthcare Research services. To be successful in this role, you MUST have at least 1 year's experience in drawing bloods and proof of competency as a phlebotomist.
This is an established programme that is looking for new candidates as it moves into its next phase.

Hours: 2-3 days per week, shift patterns vary

- Driver would be very beneficial due to the sites being mobile.
We are looking for experienced phlebotomists who also must have HCA experience to work at least 2-3 days per week in a 7-day service. These will be long days working between 7.45am – 6.15pm, Saturday 8.45am – 5.15pm, with Sunday hours being 10.45am – 4.15pm. This position is available from July. Some of the areas we expect this to be in the next few months include Bridgewater/Chard. These will be mobile sites which will move around on a regular basis every 4-5 weeks, so it would be very beneficial if you are able to drive and work at different sites. These positions are available from July, with a pay rate of up to £20 per hour (umbrella rate) plus weekend enhancements.
Main responsibilities of this phlebotomy vacancy:
- Complete POCT cholesterol checks on all participants, including height, weight, waist measurements, heart rate, and blood pressure checks, inputting results into the system.
- Draw two blood samples for each participant, label and store correctly.
- Check the welfare of participants throughout the appointment, escalating issues as required.
- Offer signposting, advice, and guidance to participants.
- Prepare samples for courier collection at the end of each shift.
