The Role
Passenger Assistants play a vital role in supporting young people with special educational needs, ensuring a safe environment during journeys to and from school. Responsibilities include ensuring passengers board and are secured on the vehicle safely, managing behaviour, and safeguarding their wellbeing. Relevant training will be provided.
We offer 15-hour contracts during term time with core hours from 7:30am to 9:00am and 2:45pm to 4:15pm, Monday to Friday. Casual roles are also available to cover sickness, holidays, and busy periods.
About You
You should be able to work with children and adults with various needs, demonstrating dignity, respect, and effective communication with parents and carers. A compassionate, flexible, and motivated nature is essential, along with the ability to follow instructions and stay calm in emergencies. Physical fitness to run, bend, stretch, push, pull, lift, carry, and kneel is required. Organisation skills and adaptability to changing situations are important.
