A well-established law firm based in Reading are currently looking for a part-time Legal Cashier/Accounts Assistant to assist with the day-to-day running of the legal accounts department. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a modern forward-thinking law firm.
Responsibilities include:
- Dealing with day-to-day operations within the legal accounts department.
- Assisting with preparation of monthly bank reconciliations.
- Assisting with completion of month end and year end procedures.
- Processing quarterly VAT returns.
- Helping to produce monthly reports to fee earners.
- Ensuring all transactions are processed daily and recorded accurately in accordance with SRA and AML rules.
- Credit control.
- Managing IT functions and liaising with the IT department if needed.
The successful candidate will be supported in the legal accounts department by 2 further legal cashiers. Candidates should have solid bookkeeping experience. However, specific legal accounting experience is not strictly necessary as training can be given. The firm currently use Quill accounting software but experience of this accounts package is not necessary as again training will be provided. The role is part-time, permanent and office-based.
