Overview

First Military Recruitment is currently seeking a Painting and Decorating Operative on behalf of one of our clients. The operative will support the Painting and Decorating (P&D) team in delivering all P&D elements across Ascot Racecourse. Responsibilities include supporting long-term maintenance, daily operations, and event setup. The role requires knowledge of operations and building infrastructure. The operative will report to the P&D Team Leader and work as part of the wider Property Department.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the P&D Team Leader with health and safety within the team and contractors, ensuring RAMS are received, filed, and followed.
• Assist in raising orders for P&D budget lines and communicate any overspends to the Facilities Manager.
• Issue, monitor, assist with, and close reactive jobs regularly.
• Maintain the estate in accordance with operating procedures.
• Conduct regular inspections and ensure faults are repaired within deadlines.
• Support CAPEX projects.

Skills and Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Painter and Decorator in a large organization.
• Relevant qualifications and competencies related to painting and decorating.
• Knowledge of health & safety regulations, Electricity at Work, and COSHH is an advantage.
• Proficient in ICT, including Microsoft Office.

Location: Ascot

Salary: £26,000 – £27,200
