Skills Provision is seeking skilled and experienced High-Voltage Overhead Transmission Linesman professionals to fill positions throughout the United Kingdom.

These roles are classified as \’roaming\’, meaning that assignments are not confined to a single fixed location.

Working Hours

• Standard hours: 7:30 am – 6:00 pm.
• Summer (26 weeks): 10-hour days.
• Winter (26 weeks): 9-hour days.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure an awareness of risks related to health and safety, hazards, and working at height.
• Fully comprehend and adhere to relevant national and company-specific regulations and standards.
• Maintain and promote safe working practices.
• Execute rigging tasks.
• Perform blocking (dressing) or clipping-in (suspension) on tension and suspension Line Towers.
• Undertake spacering and de-spacering activities.
• Safely operate a Spacer Trolley for the installation or removal of new/old spacers.
• Apply earthing schemes to Overhead Line (OHL) conductors.
• Safely use platforms, ladders, and plauders for work on tension, suspension, or line towers.
• Conduct jointing operations, such as socks, stockings, or permanent joints.
• Carry out jumpering tasks and in-situ steelwork replacement.
• Interpret and work from tower assembly and erection drawings.
• Install down leads in compliance with provided diagrams.
• Collaborate effectively within a team and adapt to dynamic working conditions.

Requirements

Candidate Requirements

A minimum of three years of continuous experience in high-voltage overhead line transmission projects is essential. This experience should encompass:

• Working at height (up to 75m) on steel lattice towers.
• Maintenance of high-voltage transmission lines.
• High-voltage OHL tensioning and stringing.
• Tower assembly and erection using cranes or derricks (e.g., Falcon).

Desirable Attributes:

• Relevant formal qualifications.
• Experience as a puller/tensioner operator, erection operator, or tractor winch operator.
• A valid UK driving licence or an international driving permit (conversion support provided).

• Passing the UKVI IELTS or providing evidence of English language proficiency.
