About the Role: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Event Operations Lead to oversee and drive operational excellence across events globally, including US, EU, and ASIA. This role is pivotal in ensuring the continued success and smooth execution of large-scale events while supporting the heads of departments in their strategic and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a second voice and additional support to department heads, stepping in when necessary to ensure smooth delivery.
- Oversee and ensure consistency across event operations, commercial operations, and content operations.
- Guide and support a team of 23 professionals, helping them grow into their roles and develop professionally.
- Drive successful execution of major global events while maintaining high standards in speaker management, sponsorship delivery, and exhibitor experiences.
- Support the team through organisational changes, ensuring a smooth transition without disrupting morale.
- Oversee margin-based budgeting and sponsorship inventory management to ensure financial efficiency.
- Lead a team of well-developed and capable Department Heads with a supporting and collaborative approach.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Background in large-scale events is essential (conference and small trade show experience considered).
- Strong experience in team leadership and development with the ability to mentor and guide teams.
- Understanding of commercial operations including sponsorship delivery and inventory management.
- Strong emotional intelligence (EI) to navigate team dynamics and drive positive change.
- Familiarity with US event regulations and labour laws is advantageous.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with a relatively new and growing team.
Target Start Date: End of May/early June.
Interview Process: Two to three rounds of interviews. Second round in-person. Decision by end of March to allow for notice periods.
