Reports to the Development Manager within the Joint Venture. Role will be to ensure safe execution of offshore activities, manage the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment, obtain offshore consents and carry out stakeholder management for the offshore scopes, including engagement of fisheries representatives. As this will require strong project management and delivery skills, we welcome applicants with project delivery experience. Leading and managing multi-disciplinary project teams comprising internal staff and consultants. Establishing, fostering and maintaining team spirit and morale through periods of intense workload and activity. Considerable interfacing across the whole project team to input environmental and consenting considerations into engineering design and commercial discussions. Able to take ownership of managing their offshore consent risks - namely offshore ornithology, HRA Derogation / Compensation. Frequent travel to various site locations in Scotland and some international travel.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the project to secure offshore consents and marine licences in line with the agreed schedules and budget.
- Responsible for managing consultants to deliver the offshore elements of the Environmental Impact Assessment, including scoping and mitigation plans.
- Agreement, management and forecasting of necessary budgets.
- Production of work-scopes and specifications for delivery at all stages of a project as necessary and manage the completion of these on time and on budget.
- Management of consultants and legal inputs as necessary.
- Management of the Offshore Development project team.
- Input to all consenting related commercial agreements and contracts to ensure project risks are mitigated.
- Management of tender processes and tender assessment for surveys, studies and technical support and take forward recommendations for business approval.
- Liaison and coordination with engineering packages, consultants and contractors delivering the design, survey, consenting, construction and operation of the project to input into the design envelope and concept selection.
- Contribution to the identification and management of risks, issues and impacts to the projects.
- Work with Stakeholder Manager, Environment Manager and Land Project Manager.
- Work with the wider shareholder teams to ensure effective liaison with national Government and regulatory authorities that benefits the projects.
- Lead and participate in identification and implementation of consenting / compliance strategies.
- Ensure high levels of quality control throughout process.
Skills & Requirements:
- Relevant development experience within a multi-disciplinary project environment and major projects.
- Experience in development of offshore wind farms is an advantage.
- Relevant experience in management of multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong planning and analysis skills with the ability to look forward and anticipate problems and thereafter plan and implement mitigating solutions.
- Experience of interfacing across a number of work packages.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent personal organisation and time management skills.
- High degree of self motivation with a flexible approach to work.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Degree qualified, preferably in a technical discipline.
- Strong project management capabilities.
- Excellent communications skills (written and verbal).
