About the Role: This full-time position (37 hours/week) is within our Whole Life Disability Occupational Therapy Team, working with disabled children and young adults (0-19). Your focus will be on helping children gain independence and improve quality of life through equipment, adaptations, assessments, and tailored interventions.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting holistic, child and family-centred assessments.
- Implementing culturally appropriate solutions creatively.
- Collaborating with partners to achieve the best outcomes.
- Maintaining clear, evidence-based records.
- Participating in review meetings, safeguarding discussions, and teamwork.
- Accessing a Career Progression Pathway up to level 4 without vacancy requirements.
We offer additional training in areas like moving and handling, postural management, and environment design for children with various needs. About You: You should have:
- A Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy, HCPC registration.
- Experience working with children in a Local Authority setting.
- Understanding of the Social Model of Disability, equipment, and independence promotion.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding.
- A passion for making a difference and delivering child-centred care.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork ability.
- Independence, time management, and organizational skills.
Additional Requirements: This role requires fluency in English (per Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016) and a DBS check for regulated activities.
