Stott and May are working with a consultancy seeking a Network Voice Engineer to play a pivotal role in transforming communication infrastructures for our clients, including some of the biggest brands in the UK and worldwide. The role involves working on challenging projects that demand innovation and thought leadership, making a meaningful difference to communities.
Key Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
- Proficiency in voice networking protocols and technologies (e.g., SIP, H.323).
- Experience with VoIP platforms (e.g., Cisco Unified Communications, Avaya) and telepresence solutions.
- Understanding of call routing, voice gateways, and telepresence infrastructure.
- 4+ years of experience in a NOC environment focusing on voice and telepresence technologies.
- Hands-on experience with VoIP and telepresence troubleshooting and support.
- Knowledge of industry best practices for voice network design and implementation.
- Implement and manage QoS policies to ensure optimal voice and video traffic prioritization.
- Monitor and optimize voice and video call quality parameters.
- Troubleshoot issues affecting voice and video communication.
- Monitor voice network infrastructure, including VoIP systems, PBX, SIP trunks, and related components.
- Respond to alerts and alarms related to voice network performance and availability.
- Conduct troubleshooting of voice-related incidents and outages.
- Basic understanding of core IT infrastructure/network concepts, including firewalls, load balancers, VPN, protocols like DNS, DHCP, NTP, TCP/IP, and network performance indicators (latency, bandwidth, jitter, packet loss).
- Experience in supporting SIP-Trunks or PSTN connections, phone number management, and SBC/media gateway management is not required.
