Job Description

In partnership with one of our esteemed ship owning clients Faststream is seeking a skilled and innovative Naval Architect to join our clients Special Projects Team.
The successful candidate will contribute to the design, modification, and repair of vessels, aligning with our clients operational strategy and their client requirements. You will play a crucial role in incorporating new technologies and supporting the companies decarbonization goals.
Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on vessel design and modifications, including new constructions and retrofits.
  • Work closely with Design SMEs, Environmental Officers, and the wider project team.
  • Produce detailed drawings using AutoCAD and other relevant software.
  • Support sustainability reporting and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in tender processes, project budgeting, and equipment selection.
  • Provide technical advice, troubleshoot operational challenges, and engage in client communication.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Naval Architecture or a related field.
  • Membership with the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA).
  • Relevant experience in a shipyard or design office.

  • Strong technical and IT skills, particularly with AutoCAD.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
