The University of Reading Music team is responsible for the planning and delivery of a busy extracurricular music programme for the University. We run a diverse programme of performance opportunities, activities and events throughout the year that promote engagement through music and showcase the talents of our students, staff and alumni to a range of public audiences. Sitting within the External Relations Directorate, our small Music team benefits from close collaboration with professionals of different disciplines to ensure that music activities provide an exceptional experience for participants and audiences alike.

Position Overview

As Music Programme Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the busy Music office and supporting the delivery of the University’s music activities. A hugely varied role, you will work closely with the Artistic Director (who works 0.6FTE) to plan an annual programme of events and develop our growing membership base. Working predominantly in-person, the Music Coordinator takes a lead role in the smooth running of the various weekly evening rehearsals by supporting our ensemble conductors/directors as well as managing rehearsal logistics and communications with members. You will also support the performance programme development and be responsible for the operational planning and delivery of all concerts including promotion, ticketing, front of house and concert management.

Interview Process

Please note that interviews for this role will take place in-person on Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th of March 2025. The initial interview process will involve two aspects as follows:

  1. A short, job-related task (approx. 60mins)
  2. A standard interview (approx. 45mins)
