Mental Health Support Worker

Hourly Rate: £16.00

Full clean Driving Licence essential for this role

Shift Pattern:

Days: 8:00am – 8:00pm

Support is provided on a 24/7 basis with a staffing ratio of 2:1 support. You will work 12-hour shifts on a rotational basis, including every other weekend and sleep-in duties.

It is essential that you have experience supporting individuals with Psychosis, Bipolar disorder, and Autism, preferably in community settings such as supported living or residential care. Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is advantageous.

You will support a kind, humorous gentleman in his own home, engaging in activities like crazy golf, amusement arcades, board games, beach walks, pool, and visiting the pub. A bubbly, fun, and upbeat personality, along with calmness, relaxation, and resilience, is desired.

You will be part of a diverse, inclusive, and supportive team. Your responsibilities include:

  • Providing person-centred support
  • Identifying triggers for mental health decline and behaviors of concern
  • Implementing PBS strategies to enhance quality of life
  • Creating and following tailored support plans
  • Helping develop life skills such as cooking, hygiene, budgeting, and household management
  • Supporting medication management, medical appointments, and health maintenance
  • Encouraging community engagement and social activities
  • Maintaining accurate care records
  • Collaborating with colleagues, family, and external professionals for holistic care
