Responsible To: Head of Mechanical & Electrical
Job Function: To manage a team of project managers to effectively deliver various Mechanical & Electrical projects throughout a defined region within agreed timescales and budgets whilst complying with company policy and procedure.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Representing the company in a professional and competent manner at all times and developing strong working relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Liaison with the CBES Electrical Qualifying Manager & Project Managers to ensure effective handover is undertaken at the outset of the contract.
- Reviewing the project programme with Project Managers to discuss all requirements for labour resource required to deliver the project.
- Ensuring that all projects are managed in accordance with the CBES HSE Management system framework and procedures.
- Using the issued budget sheet to procure relevant approved subcontract labour.
- Continuous liaison with clients to ensure that projects are delivered to agreed specifications.
- Ensuring the Project Health & Safety file, including operating and maintenance instructions is made available at the time of handover and/or practical completion.
- Undertaking site visits to ensure projects are installed in compliance with the installation specification and design criteria.
- Ensuring the completion of all site test certificates and providing these to the Project Manager for the O&M Manual and Project handover.
- Obtaining copies of the CBES Internal H&S Audits and ensuring that the individual site team’s close out identified non-conformances within the timescales required.
- Completing site H&S checks to ensure that all paperwork is being filed in compliance with company procedures.
- Ensuring all risk assessments & method statements are relevant and being adhered to.
- Undertaking site audits with the Project Manager prior to final account stage to ensure completed works reflect project specifications.
- Undertaking and returning all evaluation scorecards in relation to the project.
- The management, development and motivation of their team of direct reports including the assessment and monitoring of job performance and where necessary, facilitating the company disciplinary and/or grievance procedure in conjunction with the Human Resources Department.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Submission of monthly operational report to Head of Mechanical & Electrical.
- Delivery of annual Performance Appraisals.
- Achieve and maintain 100% H & S and job related competence for team of direct reports.
- Quality of work – site snagging issues resolved within a maximum period of 6 days.
- Site Health & Safety non-conformances – closed out within 5 working days.
- Management of labour costs within budget.
- Management of Plant and vehicle costs within budget.
- Delivery of forecasted project profit levels.
