The Configuration Management / Manufacturing Engineering role is a very broad role encompassing many aspects of engineering and change management activities. It is a customer-facing role that requires interaction with both customer and supplier to ensure all the elements of change are understood including quality, engineering and cost.

As a Configuration Manufacturing Engineer you will play an important role supporting our change and planning of change multifunctionally. From planning changes to design to redefining processes. The successful candidate will be confident in delivery & presentation to a variety of audiences and will be able to interact with stakeholders of all levels.

You will work within a dynamic, motivated and fast-paced team focusing on a strategic approach to the role implementing and planning change across the business where needed.

How You’ll Contribute

  • Confers with inter-departmental personnel to implement internal and external change requests, resolve system errors, and provide technical feedback to customer.
  • Manage larger complex, or multiple smaller projects/mods from programme or customer approval through introduction to production and delivery to customer.
  • Recognize opportunities for improvement within day-to-day processes and recommend and implement solutions enabling a CI and lean working environment.
  • Breakdown, analyze and impact assess customer design proposals and Condition of Supply changes utilizing data provided to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and lead time in implementing the proposal.
  • Create a Change implementation plan for every change being embodied to track progress, ensuring mods are delivered on customer agreed POE, within scope and within agreed costs.
  • Manage and validate all customer expectations and all stakeholder relationships, report and escalate setbacks as needed.
  • Participates in developing, establishing and maintaining procedures, processes and instructions for engineering activities.
  • Run programme/change review boards to manage the introduction of new processes into the manufacturing business.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

To help us make a difference, you’ll bring your passion and expertise along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

  • Ability to read Engineering Drawings.
  • SAP ERP tool knowledge.
  • PC literate & fully conversant with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Excellent team player with effective people skills to interface with people at all levels.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, driven and the ability to organise own workload.
  • Must be flexible and able to handle multiple and changing priorities.
  • Experience of working to strict deadlines in a demanding and pressured environment.
  • HNC / HND in an Engineering Discipline.
  • CMII Qualified.
  • BSc in Engineering.
