About the Role: The Technology in M&A team at KPMG is one of the fastest growing and most profitable within Deal Advisory and across the firm. We handle all aspects of technology including strategy, digital, apps, infrastructure, cloud, operating models, data, cyber, RPA, and post-deal implementation & enhancements, as well as reviewing technology spend.

Team Responsibilities: The Technology in M&A team provides expert support to both acquirers and vendors on pre- and post-deal technology issues. Our services include buy-side and sell-side diligence, separations, integrations, IPOs, synergy analysis, JVs, and standing up new businesses, supporting clients throughout the deal lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Split workload between due diligence and integration & separation advisory work.
  • Review and contribute to technology-related deal and transaction reports.
  • Provide insights on technology aspects relevant to clients, explaining issues clearly and highlighting their impact on business strategy, operations, and deal valuation.
  • Advise on technology aspects of integration, separation, and optimization initiatives, including developing target operating models, understanding current IT landscapes, defining transitional service agreements, and supporting implementation.
  • Lead technology workstreams in integrations and separations within larger teams, supporting workstream leads to achieve objectives.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience with Software / Product Due Diligences, integrations, separations, or similar roles.
  • Knowledge in domains such as product strategy, management processes, software engineering, architectures, deployment models, and security processes.
  • Understanding of the deal lifecycle and the role of software/product due diligences within it.
  • Additional experience in Commercial Due Diligence is preferred.
  • Proven track record of leading projects and engagements.

Desired Skills and Extras:

  • Experience across areas like IT strategy, applications, ERP, infrastructure, data, cloud, architecture, and cybersecurity is highly valued.
