Role and Responsibilities

The Associate Director: Security Architecture Security role offers a dynamic opportunity to ensure the secure operation of IQVIA\’s global IT infrastructure, including cloud-based and acquired/merged systems. This involves developing and implementing cybersecurity safeguards, enhancing existing measures, and contributing to security project implementations across the enterprise.

This position is part of our global Information Security team and offers the chance to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, strengthening our security functions.

You will work closely within the global CIO organization, partnering with Business Units and their teams, alongside other security managers and staff. This role provides an opportunity for growth within a forward-thinking department.

Principal Responsibilities

  1. Support IQVIA’s Zero Trust Program, including designing, engineering, and deploying CASB and Secure Web Gateway solutions.
  2. Assist in deploying cloud security solutions such as CASB, SASE, CSPM, CWPP, and other platforms.
  3. Drive security architecture and cloud security initiatives, researching and implementing technologies to secure IQVIA environments.
  4. Lead key projects, including solution design, tool evaluation, proof of concept, operationalization, and transition to BAU teams.
  5. Act as engineering lead for projects to test offerings, designs, and operationalize solutions.
  6. Evaluate market offerings, conduct proof of concept evaluations, and collaborate with stakeholders to select solutions.
  7. Support security programs focusing on cloud, hybrid, on-premises, and M&A environments.
  8. Design and build centralized compute environments, particularly in Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS CSP environments.
  9. Represent information security in design reviews, assessing and threat modeling designs to improve security posture.
  10. Document standards, requirements, and security guidance for stakeholders to promote security best practices.
  11. Promote Security by Design, integrating security early in the development process, working with teams to threat model and identify risks.
  12. Develop and improve technical security safeguards, deploying new capabilities and technologies.
  13. Create secure architecture strategies aligned with standards and design goals.
  14. Deliver security architecture frameworks, standards, templates, and guidance aligned with the IQVIA IISF.
  15. Research emerging technologies to reduce costs, increase efficiency, and enhance security.
  16. Evaluate security components and conduct feasibility studies for cost-effective solutions.
  17. Engage with third-party vendors and service providers for program support, including vendor and product selection.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in Information Security, IT Delivery, Program Management, or related fields.
  • Experience with cloud security platforms like CASB, SASE, CSPM, CWPP, SaaS security, and IaaS/PaaS security in Azure and AWS.
  • Experience with Palo Alto Prisma Cloud for CSPM and workload/container security.
  • Bachelor\’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Mandatory professional certification: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or equivalent.
  • Preferred certifications: ITIL, project management, TOGAF, CEH, GIAC, etc.
  • Knowledge of IT governance frameworks (CobiT, ITIL, ISO27001, NIST).
  • Understanding of IT architecture frameworks (TOGAF) and project management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of healthcare data security regulations (HIPAA, EU Data Protection, etc.).
  • Experience with IT infrastructure, networks, databases, cloud, security protocols, and attack mitigation techniques.
