Job Description

• Job Location: Field-based – North East England (Northumberland, Newcastle, Durham, Stockton, Leeds)
• Travel: Required to visit client sites; company car provided

As a Lead Auditor for SGS, you’ll be responsible for planning and conducting professional management system audits to deliver assessment and certification services that meet client requirements and accreditation standards.

The role includes conducting audits (desk-based or on-site), maintaining high service standards, and fostering effective client relationships.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Providing accurate and timely reports to assist in planning and managing operations
• Enhancing client satisfaction and ensuring standards compliance
• Maintaining professional development, updating training records, and logs to keep auditor registrations current and industry knowledge relevant

Qualifications

The candidate must be a qualified Lead Auditor with a certification background or extensive industry experience.

• Lead Auditor in ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001
• NEBOSH General Certificate or Level 6 Diploma
• Experience in Quality, Health & Safety, and/or Environmental management systems roles
• Strong knowledge of management system standards, compliance, and auditing techniques
• Experience in sectors such as Oil & Gas, Heavy Manufacturing, Construction, Transport, Pulp & Paper, Coke and Petroleum, Food, Textiles, Plastics, Rubber, Automotive/Trains, Recycling, Architectural
