We are currently looking for
a Maintenance Technician to sit within a key team to resolve, repair issues and maintain equipment in our Bedford DC.
This is a full-time position, working alongside the Site Operations team and reporting to the Facilities & Maintenance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set facilities standards and ensure they are maintained
- Work with 3rd party contracts to ensure best value
- Help implement a new CMMS to track and manage maintenance tasks effectively
- Adhere to national standards and specifications
- Comply with H&S requirements, site compliance being key, i.e., PUWER/LOLER etc
- Prioritize health & safety best practices in all work, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations
- Follow and effectively action planned maintenance schedules
- Collaborate within the Facilities team to resolve, repair issues, and maintain equipment, including assisting with quotes and project work
- React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected parties, and work efficiently to fix issues
- Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and providing feedback and suggestions through the line manager
Skills and Experience:
- Completed a full Engineering indentured Apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject (City & Guilds EAL, SVQ/IVQ, BTEC all at Level 3)
- Multiskilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines
- Experience in setting standards and implementing them on site
- Experience with warehouse internals such as racking, dock doors, dock lifting systems, sprinklers, lighting, power distribution, plumbing, joinery, and general repair works
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple maintenance tasks
- Good communication skills within a team and when working alongside operations
- Warehouse automation experience is preferred as the company aims to develop in this area
