Lead Architect – London Markets

Job Location – London / Hybrid

A London Markets specialty re-insurer is currently seeking an experienced Lead Architect with a strong development background to oversee and manage solution designs across a diverse portfolio of Enterprise IT and business-owned services used throughout our Group. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in at least two IT Architecture domains and a strong background in commercial insurance or financial services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support senior leadership in designing Architecture Roadmaps to achieve strategic goals.
• Serve as the primary contact for Architectural impact assessments during project initiation and significant changes.
• Develop and enforce Architecture Standards and Patterns.
• Collaborate with various teams to ensure cohesive and aligned solutions.
• Lead the design and development of key platform services, taking ownership of the process.
• Work with third-party vendors and ensure compliance with Architecture and Development Standards.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in architecture and IT governance, including establishing and managing group-wide/global Architecture Review Boards and Design Authority for major change programs.
• Proficiency in business and systems analysis and design.
• Expertise in enterprise and solution architecture using industry-standard frameworks and methodologies such as TOGAF and BCS.
• Strong technical skills in defining systems and technology solution architecture, particularly using Microsoft Azure.
• Sound knowledge of enterprise-grade integration architecture, including modern RESTful API approaches and traditional messaging and web services.
• Familiarity with infrastructure and security architecture, IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL), and IT governance frameworks (e.g., COBIT).
