Job Description:

Venn Group are seeking a Locum Childcare Solicitor for a Local Authority based in the Northwest of England. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEx, and must be able to travel to Manchester Courts weekly.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Attending court hearings and advocate meetings
2. Case Management
3. Contested Interim Care Orders
4. Fact Finding Hearings
5. Final Hearings
6. Applications for Emergency Protection Orders
7. Placement Orders and Secure Accommodation applications under Section 25 of The Children Act 1989

Start: Immediate
End: March 2025, very likely to be extended further
Working Arrangement: Full-time, remote working with weekly court attendance in Manchester
Rate: £55-60 per hour, umbrella
