The TikTok eCommerce Legal Team provides comprehensive legal support for diverse, cross-functional, and multi-jurisdictional initiatives across the UK and Europe, including TikTok Shop. Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of operational, regulatory, commercial, and product-related eCommerce matters from an EU law perspective, including consumer protection, B2B/B2C engagement, product compliance, advertising, creator marketing, and intellectual property.
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance across European markets as TikTok launches and scales new products, features, and business initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement of TikTok’s eCommerce operations through review and enhancement of consumer and business-facing disclosures, policies, terms & conditions, and product features.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements relevant to digital commerce, including contracts with merchants, creators, and partners.
- Contribute to process improvement, template development, and internal training, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce legal friction.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including privacy, public policy, compliance, and product teams, to ensure alignment on legal strategy and risk management.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing strategic and tactical priorities in a high-growth environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer with a strong academic background and legal qualifications in the UK and/or Europe.
- 4+ years of legal experience advising consumer-facing digital platforms in Europe, with expertise in platform liability, consumer protection, and intellectual property.
Preferred Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of EU laws applicable to eCommerce platforms, digital marketplaces, and the retail sector.
- Ideally, in-house experience within an international, matrixed organization.
- Proven track record in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, particularly within the retail, technology, or creative industries.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and operate effectively in a fast-moving environment.
