We are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Sociology to contribute to teaching and research. Applications are welcomed from any field of sociology. The successful candidate will be expected to enhance our interdisciplinary research portfolio, with a focus on the application of social science research methods to real world problems. You will be expected to seek research funding from a range of sources, and to be able to generate demonstrable impact and engagement in your work. In addition, you will also be expected to contribute to teaching and module leadership within the MSc Sociology programme.
About you
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Sociology, a Sociology sub-discipline, or a closely related field. You will have a publication record, or clear potential for publishing, in internationally well-renowned, general-interest sociology journals. In addition, you will have experience of teaching sociology to diverse groups of students, preferably at the postgraduate level, and have the ability to teach sociology students from a range of methodological backgrounds, including quantitative and qualitative approaches.
