Job Description:

I am actively seeking experienced Adult Learning Disability Support Workers to work within a service in Llanrumney, Cardiff. The service supports those with learning and mobility difficulties with personal care, medication administration, food preparation, and accessing the community.

Overview:

  • Title: Full-time Learning Disability Support Worker
  • Location: Llanrumney, Cardiff
  • Job Type: Temporary
  • Shifts: Full-time hours, long days (8am-7pm), short days (10am-3pm), and sleeps
  • Pay: £13.38 p/h (inclusive of holidays)
  • Must have full UK driving license
  • Potential for a permanent contract

The role:

As an adult learning Disability Support Worker, you\’ll provide therapeutic care and support to patients with autistic spectrum conditions and complex needs, including observing, monitoring, recording patient conditions, and treating each person with dignity, compassion, and honesty. You\’ll assist their progression towards independent living, supported by a team of multi-professionals.

The candidate:

To succeed as an Adults Learning Disability Support Worker, you should:

  • Have a desire to create positive outcomes for adults with learning disabilities
  • Be empathetic, caring, and resilient
  • Have at least 6 months experience working in a social care setting
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • Have the right to work in the UK
