The successful Lead Shift Engineer will lead the shift maintenance team, providing both a reactive and pro-active, highly skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure.
The role will involve:
- Following and completing (signing off) planned maintenance (PMs, RMs & CMs) and overseeing the adherence of timely completion of work carried out.
- Increasing the site operational effectiveness, improving project delivery, mean times between failure, and downtime reduction, and managing and implementing improvement plans, driving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
- Participating in projects, continuous improvement, and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices, and processes.
- Liaising with external contractors for reactive maintenance and to schedule planned service maintenance, requesting and checking RAMS, inducting personnel, providing permits to work, and overseeing contractor work onsite to ensure it is carried out safely.
- Carrying out risk assessments of routine maintenance procedures and unplanned works.
- Ensuring that maintenance staff take responsibility for their work environment and that all tools are maintained and accounted for.
To be successful in this role of Lead Shift Engineer , we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:
- Holding a recognised apprenticeship.
- Holding a minimum CGLI or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
- A solid engineering background, and experience of working in a process environment (this would be advantageous if this was in the AD industry).
- Excellent H&S knowledge.
- Previous experience within a team leader role is essential, with the ability to mentor, motivate, and lead others in the team.
- Dual skilled mechanical/electrical is desirable but not essential.
- Good communication skills, both verbally and written, along with excellent organisational skills.
