Overall purpose of the job:
- Contribute as a member of a skilled team of Lead Network Architects
- Implementation of customer WAN, LAN and Network Security Solutions, including a wide range of CPE devices
- Establishing a close working relationship with customers, Exponential-e Project Managers, and other peer engineering teams, in order to achieve project objectives
- Advise customers on any new technology and its integration with the solution
- Contribute in Research & Development of any new products
Key responsibilities for this job:
- Assisting pre-sales consultants with any complex solution designs
- Taking the lead on project delivery as a technical capacity by
- Owning configuration builds of the network and/or security components
- Managing documentation and migration plans
- Providing regular updates to customers and/or Exponential-e Project Managers
- Supporting any scheduled migrations, which may be out of hours
- Testing and Troubleshooting
- Network on-boarding and handover to Service Desk and other delivery teams to ensure smooth in-life support and future rollouts
- Owning Research & Development tasks for the relevant vendors or technologies, and becoming a subject-matter-expert
- Provide training and knowledge-transfer to peer teams as necessary
- Occasional requirement for on-site presence
Knowledge and experience required:
- Experience of delivering large or complex customer projects/transformation projects
- Experienced in VPLS/MPLS, Networking (Layer-2 & Layer-3), Routing Protocols (OSPF/BGP), Resiliency Protocols and LAN technologies
- Knowledge of SDN, SD-WAN and SASE technologies and solutions
- Advanced firewall knowledge and experience (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA)
- Good understanding of access technologies such as Carrier Ethernet, DSL and FTTC
- Demonstrates a proactive and determined approach with the ability to deliver even in high-pressure situations
- Must possess good communication skills, work methodically, be detail-oriented and able to multitask
Knowledge and experience desired:
- Experienced in Cisco ISE & DNA
- Knowledge of Aruba Central & Clearpass
- Scripting capabilities
- Knowledge of RIPE, SMTP, DNS and domain-name operations
- Familiar with Wireless solutions (Cisco, Meraki, Aruba)
