Position: Lead Mechanical Engineer
Reporting to: Mechanical Engineering Manager
Role Overview: As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will spearhead the development of mechanical engineering and design within multi-discipline EPCM or EPC projects. These projects will span from concept design to execution designs, initially focusing on the nuclear sector, with opportunities to work in other sectors such as Oil & Gas, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, and Food.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers.
- Ensure high-quality engineering designs and project deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and relevant standards.
- Manage and complete mechanical designs within scope, time, and budget.
- Participate in internal and external design reviews, ensuring client acceptance.
- Provide expert technical support and make independent decisions on issues.
Your Profile:
- Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering (BEng or MEng).
- Experience: 5+ years as a Lead/Senior/Principal Engineer in multi-discipline projects.
- Certification: Chartered Engineer (CEng) with IMechE or equivalent (preferable).
- Skills: Knowledge of general and nuclear engineering standards. Understanding of other disciplines (Civil, Structural, EC&I, Process). Proficiency in mechanical specifications, design documents, and compliance assessments. Familiarity with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Plant3D, E3D, Caesar II).
- Attributes: Result-oriented with a focus on client satisfaction. Strong planning and organizational skills. Effective leadership and team motivation. Ability to present design packages and chair design review meetings.
