We are recruiting for a Lead CSA Engineer to join us permanently on a major project near Newbury. Reporting to the project engineering manager, the Lead CSA Engineer will manage discipline engineers and/or engineering design subcontractors, including planning work activities, estimates, schedules, and progress reporting. Purpose and Scope: The Lead Civil, Structural and Architectural (CS&A) Engineer oversees the management, leadership, coordination, and performance of CS&A engineering activities for a nuclear project within the Amentum UK business unit. Responsibilities: Apply relevant safety legislation such as CDM, PUWER, and the Health and Safety at Work Act. Manage design control processes: Design Control Plans, review management, change control. Produce engineering deliverables: Bases of Design, analysis, calculations, drawings, specifications. Manage technical risk activities: risk management strategies, assessments, mitigation, and risk register maintenance. Coordinate requirements management: systems engineering principles, configuration control, validation, and verification. Contribute to project delivery lifecycle and develop engineering baselines: scope, schedules, estimates, and execution plans. Oversee project delivery and reporting: progress monitoring, rules of credit, recovery planning. Engage with delivery partners and supply chain: technical requirements, tender assessments, TQ management, deliverable oversight. Specific Responsibilities (nuclear-specific): Knowledge of UK nuclear site license conditions and related procedures. Experience with nuclear baseline configuration control throughout the project lifecycle. Understanding of nuclear safety case stages, design change control, and safety case interactions. Knowledge of nuclear safety regulations and regulatory interactions. Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience. Membership of a relevant chartered body (e.g., MICE) preferred. Proven experience managing a CS&A engineering team in complex projects, including supply chain management.
